Start with the address test
In Munich, the first address needs to be tested before the week becomes a plan. Start with the local Anmeldung guide, confirm whether the address can support the Wohnungsgeberbestätigung and registration route, then sort the documents that affect bank, insurance, work or study, Tax ID expectations, school, childcare, and daily movement.
- Open the Munich Anmeldung guide and current Stadt München service page before choosing a Bürgerbüro route or document set; the address has to support the Wohnungsgeberbestätigung before the rest of the week can be stable.
- Treat every temporary stay or room offer as an address-readiness question: what is the Warmmiete, what payment pressure exists, can the landlord confirmation be issued, and does the location still work for work, university, or family routines?
- Use MVG for the real weekly triangle between home, work or study, city-service errands, supermarkets, and childcare or school checks. Munich looks compact on tourist maps, but first-week logistics often depend on the exact U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram, or bus pattern.
